Shenandoah Valley

My wife Kay, our two dogs, and I enjoyed a nice drive out to the Shenandoah Valley to view the fall colors and pick up some apples. The colors were spectacular and I wish I could have taken a few more pictures however, the weather was not cooperating. Luckily the only rain we experienced was from Richmond to Hampton Roads. We stopped in Elkton, VA for brunch and then continued on to Timberville, VA and into Mathias, WV before turning around and heading back home. Along the way we ended up picking up two bushels of Stayman apples as there was a buy one bushel and get the second one free. It looks like we will be having apple pie, apple and walnut bread, apple sauce, and other apple dishes for a while. Below are a few pictures of our trip that I enhanced a bit due to the gloomy weather.
